The problem with melons is that sometimes they have very little flavor, and that was the case with the musk melon, but until you’ve had one that was perfectly ripe you’ll never know how good it can be.
The fruit, not the candy. The first one wasn’t too sweet, but I have a couple more that are still ripening, so I’ll see how those ones taste.
Mmm pineapple. This one actually came with instructions, although I disobeyed and broke the top off before cutting it up. This one was quite ripe, and after sharing a few chunks with office mates I kept eating away until I looked down and realized that I ate 3/4 of a pineapple in one sitting. Fortunately the acidity wasn’t too bad.
I’m still not sure how to count things like plums where there’s so many similar varieties, but I’m counting this one for all yellow plums, I think (I might change my mind as I get closer to 1000).
I remember going through the first 25 or so years of life being completely confused why grape juice and anything grape “flavored” tasted nothing like grapes. And then I had concord grapes, and I realized where that flavor comes from, and the artificial flavoring is spot on. Although I can’t really understand why they picked these ones, they’re nowhere near as good as green or red grapes. Side note, if you squeeze them a bit just right, the skin peels right off.
Like most fruits, just wait until they’re a bit soft and then bight in. Mmmmmmmm, pretty much the same as mission figs, except the color of course.
These were quite delicious. I ate them on the Train to Maine. I find them slightly better than regular rasberries.
I’m pretty sure plums/pluots are my favorite common fruit.
